A Tribute to Reno
Hello again and thanks for viewing this latest post. This year was the last year for the National Championship Air Races to be held at Reno, NV. The race has been a yearly aviation destination for the past sixty years. The unlimited class of racers, such as the P-51D "Double Trouble" shown, reach over 400mph as they fly low to the ground and turn around the course pylons. Concerns over safety have to caused the cessation of this event at the Reno airport. This particular photo was taken at the 1987 races. One can see another race photo on my site, taken during the same race week. The title of that photo is "Unlimited." My time there was imprinted on me and is an experience I will never forget. A tip of the hat to all the racers over the years that made this a unique and thrilling event. Well done and thank you.
