All About the Yellow

All About the Yellow

Greetings and welcome back!

It has been a great airshow season this year.  My return to the Oregon International Airshow was another great experience.  If anyone has not been to this show I highly recommend it, it is well worth the trip.   I attended the Bremerton Airshow for the first time and am so glad I did! So many incredible aircraft I have not had the opportunity to see before.  Some of my photos from Bremerton will be appearing in my blog over the next few months so stay tuned.

The focus of this post is a beautiful Piper J3 Cub.  If one looks closely it shows NAS (Naval Air Station) Moffett Field on the side, a military airport in southern California in the 1940s and which is still active today.  The US Navy designation for the J3 Cub was NE-1.  These aircraft were used mostly for liaison, training and spotting.  If you haven't noticed yet, this image features a black and white background effect while the subject, the J3 Cub, is in its vibrant yellow color.  I would love to get your opinion on this monochrome/color look.  I am stretching my creativity and some feedback would be most appreciated.

Well, that's all for this blog.  Thanks for reading and we'll see you next time.

Talley ho!

Steve
