Hey everyone, as always, thanks for reading the blog.
First, let me just say it was not a hard decision to post this image. There are some photos where you just innately know you got a great shot and for me, this is one of those photos. The Bell UH-1 "Huey" (on the left) and the Bell AH-1 "Apache" (to the right) flying together in a nice, tight formation. I have seen these two Vietnam era helos perform together before, but this demonstration was by far their best. The angle of the shot was near perfect and gives one the impression they are nearly on top of one another which increases the tension in the photo. The sky, with areas of dark clouds, adds to that impending tone of the image. If I could add the sound of those helicopter blades "whopping" the air I would, but you'll have to do that for yourself. I have a photo of this same "Cobra" in my MODERN MILITARY catalog. The title of that image with the AH-1s aggressive angle is called, "Attitude". Look for this image to be posted in the same category.
The photo was taken at the 2025 Hillsboro Air Show and, which I have posted before, has become one of my must see events. I draw upon Shakespeare for the name of this image, "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother..."
Talley ho!
