Alaskan Gold

Alaskan Gold

This is one of my favorite images from my recent trip to Anchorage, Alaska.  The trip was purposeful in that I specifically wanted to get images of large cargo aircraft (747F, 777F, and 767F) departing, arriving and taxing.  Anchorage is a busy hub for package/parcel cargo aircraft to and from Asia.  Here's a list of airlines I saw; FedEx, CargoLux, UPS, Atlas Air, China Southern Cargo, All Nippon Cargo, DHL Southern Air, Singapore Airlines Cargo, Cathay Pacific Cargo, and Alaska Air CARGO, The image shown is a CargoLux 747-8F just after takeoff.  A notable feature of the 747-8 is the extended, raked wingtip (no winglet as on the -400).  As a part of the trip, I was also wanting to get some local float plane shots.  Anchorage has THE largest number of float planes per capita in the world.  All in all, it was a great trip even with the weather being overcast for three days, a chilly wind blowing and some light rain on one day.  Look for more images from this trip and also from the Hillsboro, OR air show last month.  As always, thanks for looking!

Talley ho!
