This is one of my favorite images from my recent trip to Anchorage, Alaska. The trip was purposeful in that I specifically wanted to get images of large cargo aircraft (747F, 777F, and 767F) departing, arriving and taxing. Anchorage is a busy hub for package/parcel cargo aircraft to and from Asia. Here's a list of airlines I saw; FedEx, CargoLux, UPS, Atlas Air, China Southern Cargo, All Nippon Cargo, DHL Southern Air, Singapore Airlines Cargo, Cathay Pacific Cargo, and Alaska Air CARGO, The image shown is a CargoLux 747-8F just after takeoff. A notable feature of the 747-8 is the extended, raked wingtip (no winglet as on the -400). As a part of the trip, I was also wanting to get some local float plane shots. Anchorage has THE largest number of float planes per capita in the world. All in all, it was a great trip even with the weather being overcast for three days, a chilly wind blowing and some light rain on one day.
