Hello all,
I wanted to share one of my all time favorite images, this Boeing McDonnell-Douglas EA-18G "Growler". The Growler is a derivative of the F-18 Super Hornet. However, it is not a fighter but an electronic countermeasures aircraft as noted by the special pods on the wing. The EA-18G replaced the EA-6B "Prowler" in late 2009. This was one of those 'right place, right time' photos but sometimes you make your own luck by planning ahead. It's not often one gets a straight on shot with engines running of a high performance military jet. And no, I was not standing in the middle of the runway although it certainly looks like that! That's one of the reasons I like this image so much. The photo was taken at the 2021 Moses Lake Air Show. They always put on a great air show, one of the best, and you can usually count on good weather.
Talley Ho!
