Today I want to share a very unique photo from my archives. I was visiting March AFB in 1988-89 and captured this Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" doing a pass. Some of these aircraft were stationed on the Ryukyu islands in Japan. There is a venomous pit viper there called a Habu. If you look close, you can see the round Habu symbol on the tail. These aircraft were capable of flying more than Mach 3.5 and it's top speed is STILL classified, even 25 years after its official retirement from the US Air Force inventory. In the history of aviation, I am still in awe of its technical design and performance capabilities and it is my favorite aircraft of all time. It's not often I post an image from my archives and you won't find it on my website. Due to its archival nature, the image leans more towards an artistic representation, still a very good one in my opinion. A professional giclée print on artist quality canvas would be amazing to see on a wall. If you are interested in a print, just message me. Thanks for looking and enjoy!
