During this summer's air show season I was very excited to see the Boeing B-29 "Doc" at the Moses Lake Air Show. I have heard about this particular bomber for many years but up until now, I never had an opportunity to see it up close and in person, and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint. The aircraft was in impeccable condition and the crew and volunteer people supporting the display were friendly and very helpful. There was a continuous stream of aviation fans like myself making their way through the bomb bay, pressure tunnel and into the cockpit. Of note, there are only two Boeing B-29 Superfortress bombers which are airworthy and actively flying today. Both are maintained by nonprofit groups and appear at airshows across the country. This aircraft "Doc" (after the same Disney character from the Seven Dwarves) and FIFI. These displays offer the public a living connection to World War II aviation history.
