This blog is about a serendipitous accident. My original trip was to capture photos at the Paine Field regional airport in Everett, WA. On the way there I happened to drive under the final approach of the seaplane airbase at Kenmore Air Harbor Seaplane Base at the northern end of Lake Washington. Making a mental note of the location I stopped there on my way home and was rewarded with some amazing photos of float planes. This aircraft is the Canadian built de Havilland DHC-2 "Beaver". These aircraft have been primarily operated as bush planes and also used for a wide variety of utility roles such as; cargo and passenger hauling, aerial application, and civil aviation duties. To me, there is something graceful about these 'birds' landing smoothly on the water. I had the experience once of flying in one of these, one that I will never forget.
