RED BULL

RED BULL

As always, thank you for visiting my page and reading the current blog.  We are in the midst of the 2024 air show season and let me tell you it has been busy, in a good way.  I have attended three shows so far and expect to attend another three shows, maybe four, along with some fly days hosted by some local aviation historic museums.  For anyone who has lived in the Pacific Northwest for any length of time, you know you can never count on the weather. Several rain (and hail) squalls have passed through two of the air shows but have have provided some dramatic cloud/sky backdrops.  Thankfully, I've stayed relatively dry.

This blog is about the Oregon International Air Show at Hillsboro, OR held in May.  It truly has become one of my favorite shows on the circuit.  It's a great venue and has a lot to offer and the performers are spectacular.  This image features the Red Bull Edge 540 acrobatic plane flown by Kirby Chambliss, a world aerobatic champion and air race pilot who raced in the Red Bull Air Race World Series. The aircraft is parked in front of two famous WWII warbirds, a Grumman F6F Hellcat and F4F Wildcat, both operated by the Erickson Aircraft Collection in Madras, OR.  It as absolutely a great show all around and I can tell you I will be back again next year.

Talley ho!
