Hello everyone,
Originally delivered as a Boeing B-17G, this aircraft has been modified (post WWII) by removing the chin turret to reflect an 'F' model. The aircraft is wearing "Ye Old Pub" markings used by the B-17F assigned to the 527th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), 379th Bombardment Group (Heavy), of the 1st Bomb Division. This Bomb Group flew out of east Anglia as part of the 8th Air Force strategic bombing campaign against Germany. I have posted before about this specific plane way back in 2022. Check out my original post on this aircraft which has an amazing story (it was only my 3rd blog post). This recent photo makes it worth revisiting with another post. It was a beautiful summer day for the photo shoot at Bremerton Nation Air[port. As you can see, the weather was top notch. There is nothing better than seeing an old warbird with four Pratt & Whitney engines turning.
