Recent Photo Shoot Nabs P-51D

A good friend once told me, I need to continue to add photos to my portfolio.  With that in mind, I just returned from a visit to Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ and the Commemorative Air Force Museum.  While there, I was completely surprised when the P-51D Mustang, "Nervous Energy V", appeared and took the active runway. I was not expecting it but was able to grab some shots while it prepared to takeoff. The aircraft is USAAF serial number 45-11391 and reflects the markings of the 325th Fighter Group, 15th Air Force, which was based in Lesina, Italy. Aircraft '00' was the personal aircraft of Lt. Colonel Ernest Beverly, 325th Group Commander from September 11, 1944 to March 2, 1945. Sometimes photography is all about being in the right place at the right time!
