Hello again and welcome back to the Aeon blog. I recently realized I post many more warbirds than general aviation type aircraft. This is my attempt to correct that, and I will be more diligent to showcase more non-military content in the future.
Today I wanted to share a beautifully restored Boeing Stearman PT-17 biplane in two-tone red. The photo was taken at the 2025 Hillsboro Air Show. It is a simple enough image but I like the way the airplane is partly out of the hangar. The sunlight highlights the engine and landing gear and then the airplane slowly fades into the shadows at the back of the space. The gray supporting roof supports fade to black, becoming lesser and lesser of an element in the photo's composition.
I always like to give my images titles and don't have one yet for this one. So, if you have a good idea for one, please comment. If you come up with a really good title that I decide to use, I'll send you a free print of this image. Thanks for looking and enjoy!
