Welcome back! This image of a North American T-28 Trojan is one of my personal favorites. Not only because I really like the image which highlights the polished aluminum skin, or because the engine cowl is open revealing that huge piston engine (which you hardly ever see), but also because my dad flew these in the mid-1950s in advanced training with the US Air Force and got 60 hours in the type. Some examples were later converted to ground attack planes. In August 1962, a T-28 Trojan was the first US fixed wing attack aircraft (non-transport type) lost in South Vietnam, during the Vietnam War. They still thrill me at air shows. Check back for more T-28 images as I have some US Navy T-28s to share!
Talley ho!
