"Bent Wing Bird" - Chance Vought F4U-1A Corsair

"Bent Wing Bird" - Chance Vought F4U-1A Corsair

The "Bent Wing Bird" is a WWII fighter produced by Chance Vought. The F4U is one of the most iconic fighters of the war. The bent wing design helped accommodate a very large 13' propeller while keeping the landing gear short and sturdy for punishing carrier landings. Corsairs were flown in combat with the US Navy VF-32 "Swordsmen" fighter group during the Korean War from 1949-1951 aboard the USS Leyte (CV 32).  This particular aircraft was flown during the filming of the major motion picture "Devotion".  Photograph was taken at the 2023 Moses Lake Air Show. Add a slim, black floating frame to really set off this image. Your satisfaction is absolutely guaranteed and shipping is free!
