The Messerschmitt Me-109 E, often referred to by its nickname 'Emil', was a German fighter aircraft used extensively during World War II. Its light weight design allowed it to be fast, well armed and agile, making it a formidable opponent in the skies. The aircraft's capability is underscored by the extraordinary achievements of pilots like Erich Hartmann, who holds the record as the highest-scoring fighter ace in history, with 352 aerial victories while flying the Me-109. This aircraft continued to evolve in various versions throughout the war, adapting to different combat needs.
The Me-109's production numbers are staggering: over 34,000 units were built, making it the most produced aircraft of World War II and one of the most produced in aviation history. Its legacy is a testament to its design and effectiveness, as it remained in service well beyond the war in various air forces around the world. The title of this image is of course, 'Emil'.

The Optional Frame
Frames are available only in satin black and are made of solid wood. The frame is approximately 1.5 inch deep allowing for your 1 inch thick canvas to appear to float within the frame. The thickness of the frame is narrow and finishes the image nicely.
