This very rare, Grumman J2F-6 "Duck" is one of only six of this type that remain airworthy in the world. The float plane was originally introduced into service in 1936 making the design almost 90 years old. The airplane served in all branches of the US Armed Forces; the Navy, Army, Army Air Corps, the Marines and the Coast Guard which is unusual given the unique mission requirements for each branch of service. In total, 584 were built and operated in many different types of roles. The Optional Frame
Frames are available only in satin black and are made of solid wood. The frame is approximately 1.5 inch deep allowing for your 1 inch thick canvas to appear to float within the frame. The thickness of the frame is narrow and finishes the image nicely.
