The Douglas SBD "Dauntless" was the best dive bomber the US Navy had in June of 1942.  The aircraft was pivotal in helping to sink all four Japanese aircraft carriers during the Battle of Midway.  A naval historian called it "one of the most consequential naval engagements in world history."  The Japanese Navy never pursued another naval offensive campaign after the defeat at Midway and turned instead to a defensive posture. The Optional Frame

Frames are available only in satin black and are made of solid wood. The frame is approximately 1.5 inch deep allowing for your 1 inch thick canvas to appear to float within the frame. The thickness of the frame is narrow and finishes the image nicely.
